Wow, what a year.
Many shows and many weeks have gone by since I last posted here and man, a lot has happened.
Our girl Addie will now be known as NZCh Janan In A Heartbeat after picking up the points needed to gain her championship title. It's been hard fought and each win has been against quality competition but shes finally done it!
We also added a new girl to our show team, Ginny, Janan On Your Marks - this girls rearing to go.
Ginny has already proven her worth picking up TWO Baby Puppy in show awards as well as Baby Puppy of group. This girl also picked up her first Challange Certificate and BEST OF BREED just days after reaching the puppy class. Ginny has now stepped up to become our main show girl.
Unfortunatly 2018/2019 has bought us no puppies so far, but we now have our eyes set on mating our young girl Addie (Nz Ch Janan In A Heartbeat) hopefully later this year. Keep your eyes peeled for more information.
On the 9th of June we rocked up to the Auckland Shows with my two girls, NZCH Janan Cross My Heart (Nike) and Janan In a Heartbeat (Addie) along with Mum's main show dog Riot.
As always Riot said "Your not the boss of me" and was Naughty, naughty and more naughty but still managed to take the Best of Breed. Nike, not one to be shown up was the star of the day winning her THIRD New Zealand Bred of Group managing to keep her strike rate at 3 out of 3 after coming back to showing!
Addie came away with another Reserve Best Bitch, after being shown up by her mother but this young girl is certainly getting there and proving to be tough competition now with a number of reserve challenges to her name over older competition
On 12th and 13th May off we went to a local show in Kawerau, only 30 mintutes away from where I live. I decided to take Addie and even bring along the old girl Nike since it could possibly be her last chance of coming to a show for a while- due to us hoping to have babies and man, they did me proud. Addie came out firing gaining 2x Puppy of Breed and 1x Reserve Bitch Challenge. Nike not wanting to be shown up came away with 2x Reserve of breed, 2x Bitch Challenge's and
2x New Zealand Bred Of Group!!
Finally we have found a kennel name to call our own, a tribute to my beginning and the kennel who started our venture into the show world and the world of English Cockers, Janan Cocker Spaniels.
Because of this I've finally been able to have an attempt at putting together a website to let people know our plans and see where this venture takes us.
I've been waiting religiously for Nike ( Janan Cross My Heart ) to come on heat so we can get our first mating and hopefully our first litter under way, but as the princess does, shes taking her time. But we can expect good news hopefully in June/July and puppies late August/early September.
